GNOME Fork Announced
GYESME is a new, early-stage project exploring alternative design directions for the GNOME desktop. Rather than aiming to replace GNOME, it focuses on architectural modularity, optional functionality, and preserving established Linux interaction patterns within a minimalist default environment.
The project is currently centered on research and discussion, with an emphasis on long-term maintainability and portability across Linux distributions, including reducing unnecessary coupling to systemd where practical.
